(1) Members of the Association of Songwriters and
Music shall at all times represent the association respectfully in all
conversation both verbally and in writing. When discussing the association
their conduct should be performed to the highest standard and actively
promote the associations visions of providing its services with good
intention and above all honour.
(2) Members must abide by the legal requirements of
copyright and not procure other members work for financial gain through
information links within the organisation, web pages or newsletters.
(3) Members called on to assist others in a professional
capacity shall be honest and, to the best of their ability reliable.
There is no requirement through membership to give of time and/or experience
to other members. This is a voluntary act from the more advanced member
as a peer to enhance the quality of material for mastering.
(4) Members shall not disseminate any literature through
the associations membership nor undertake any responsibilities that
they do not believe themselves competent to do.
All literature must have an authorisation code of approval prior any
distribution.
(5) All members will be treated with dignity and respect
and treated equally on the grounds of race, religion, sex or disability.
Complaints on this subject will be taken very seriously.
(6) No member shall create links for financial gain
within the web site without approval. Any copying of the Associations
material with intent for transmission through electrical data interface
or post is strictly forbidden.
(7) Members shall not injure or attempt to injure
the reputation, prospects or business of another member. The association
reserves the right to terminate membership for bringing the association
into disrepute with no refund of fee’s.
(8) Any member found attempting to illegally tamper
with the web site or hack into its data base will be reported immediately
to the relevant authority and suspended from the association pending
further investigation.
(9) All members have a professional duty to report
any breaches of the code of practice. This in turn will uphold the quality
of membership and save the honour of the association.
